Great news - Blackboy peaches are now in season and available from TreeRipe Orchard. The Blackboy Peach is actually amazing eating. It is a natural mutation of a white-fleshed peach, selected and propagated in France, several centuries ago. Significantly it is grown in very few places over the world yet somehow made it to NZ which it is taken hold. It's flavour has been described as 'dense yet burstingly tender crimson flesh gives way to indelible juiciness, and a flavour combining the finer points of plum, peach and the richest red wine.  The fragrance is heady, complex and intoxicating peachy'.  Doesn't that description make you want to try them!
