Jamu New Zealand was co-created by Lisa Crockett and Amber SMith, close frineds for 20 years who businesses fell over due to the Covid-19 lockdown in 2020. The silver lining being it gave them a chance to work on a project together - something they had talked and dreamed of for a long time. After some brainstorming Jamu New Zealand was born. 

Jamu is a New Zealand spin on a traditional Indonesian Health and Wellness tonic. Jamu is lovingly made with all natural rockstar ingredients of fresh tumeric and ginger roots, cardamom and black pepper, apple cider vinegar and manuka honey. Jamu is then strained leaving you with a highly concentrated health and wellness tonic. You can take Jamu daily as a straight 50ml shot or add hot/cold/sparkling water and more honey if you prefer it a little sweeter. Jamu is known for its anti inflammatory properties and is also a natural immune supporter, gut healer, beauty system and all round general tonic for your beautiful body.

Jamu started attending the Nelson Farmers Market in 2020. Amber has since left the business but Lisa continues to fly the Jamu flag. Lisa is a passionate foodie and loves attending the Nelson Farmers Market. She loves connecting with her fellow growers and producers, ‘We’re so luck in this region and live in a food bowl – I feel so lucky to be able to be a part of the story’. Lisa is very proud of producing a drink which is low in sugar and free from any preservatives. She loves hearing how Jamu helps people work towards their health and wellness goals.
